The Curatorial Machine of the Galeries Lafayette Corporate Foundation (Lafayette Anticipations) is housed in a 19th-century industrial building in the Marais, close to the Centre Pompidou. An exhibition tower composed of two sets of two stacked platforms is inserted into the footprint of the building’s courtyard. Thanks to their built-in motors, the platforms move vertically along racks. Their combination offers a wide range of spatial and programmatic configurations, amplifying the potential of the exhibition and artistic production spaces. Users can easily and safely modify the building’s geometry as needed, in a simple, efficient, and reliable manner.
Four self-supporting and self-propelled mobile platforms. Each platform is equipped with its own motorization and corner pinions. A pinion-rack type movement mechanism, controlled by a computerized control system, allows for vertical translation.
